HMV Pickup Model 11

I just had this re-wound as it had gone open circuit. This is its first run. The pickup is being fed into my recently acquired and restored HMV dual wave radio, Model 661. This radio had been purchased in 1940 and I recently bought it from the original owner's granddaughter who had no desire to keep it. It was still working (unrestored since new) but I have re-capped it.

The little gramophone is a table model Rexonola (the model number escapes me right now). I have had this machine since my father gave it to me when I was about five.

That sounds really fantastic. I just bought myself an electric pickup by Pathé with separate volume control which I haven't found the time to test yet. And your radio is a beautiful to look at and listening to.

Thank you, Norman! That model HMV has always been my favourite. I've been looking for one for years but every one I found was either modified or the cabinet was in poor shape. I felt very lucky finding that one.

I found another Model 11 recently in its original box and with volume control, instructions, etc. Here's a video:

The polaroid in the top left of the gramophone was me when I was given this machine at the age of 5...still as passionate today as I was back then about these machines!

Thats a great find. The volume controls seldom turn up, nor do the original display boxes. I dont think I've ever seen the instruction book before.
Congratulations.
