Edison Cylinder Cabinet question??

Hello,
I have been offered an Edison Fireside model B with cygnet horn and 130 cylinders. The interesting part is the oak cabinet that comes with it. It has nine rows of eleven columns holding 99 cylinders. Is this a real cylinder cabinet or was it originally made for some other purpose???
thanks
Pete

Looks home made. Is their any identification on it? It's a very interesting piece regardless!

All I have to go on is the pictures I have been sent, so I don't know if there is a makers I.D. plate Unfortunatley the lady that has it for sale is asking way too much, $2300 for the lot. It is too bad because there is a bunch of nice record titles in the batch. I was thinking the lot is worth more like $1000 to $1200??? What do you think??

It's probably not an "Edison" brand cabinet.
I wonder, those compartments, would be too small to hold wine bottles, I guess, as it could be a wine cabinet, if the compartments were of correct size. Just an observation based on the photo. Does it rotate?

yes it does rotate, but it is a little hard to turn. Needs a little oil I expect.

I agree with Mark.
99 cylinders, some with nice titles, a good looking machine, and a really cool record cabinet? Maybe you can negotiate a bit, but if you can verify that it is truly a cylinder cabinet, I would really try to get it.
I don't think wine rack as the original use is practical. They would be so heavy that it would likely cause the whole thing to come tumbling down.
