but it's not there anymore. :D It's mahogany fairly decent original finish, bedplate could be better, VERY dirty but I think will clean up well. At $130 it was too tempting to pass. First machine I've purchased since before Union.

One problem I'd like to solve is that it has a nickel reproducer. It should have the oxidised one. Anyone who's got an extra, see my post in Yankee Trader.

You just can't resist those Edison "A" machines can you? Now you have a matching set (oak/mahogany) if the pics on your webpage are still current!! Nice acquisition I'd say, way to go.

Yes Steve, They are a weakness and the webpage is still current. I also have one in oak. :D

The webpage is undergoing a big face lift btw. I'll let you know when it's updated. You'll notice I have more than one of some of other models too.

I'm glad someone can view your site Bruce. Whenever I try, I usually get abducted by the webring.
Congratulations on the new A150!

Sorry to hear that Shane. Anyway as mentioned the site is getting a major overhaul. What you see, (or in your case can't see) will be going down and the new version coming up. I won't be foolish enough to link it to the web ring again. :monkey:

The seller sent me a few pics of my recent acquisition, very dirty but not bad for 98+ years old. Also thanks to another member of this forum, as of today, I've gotten the correct oxidised finish reproducer for it. Still need a good stylus though and that can be problematic as you know... :monkey:

Beautiful, Bruce! Congratulations - -

Interesting way the horn connects, as seen from behind in one of the views. The cygnet-style hook is typical, but what is that knob for?

Nice machine!

The knob is a threaded nut that screws through the elbow and into the bell of the horn. As far as I know, all the A series machines used that belt and suspenders approach. These are often missing but the horns usually stay together anyway, just with the cygnet hook.

Check your A series machines. I bet you have that nut too, or at least you will see the hole where it should be. :)

Ohmigosh! You're right! Either I never noticed that before or (more likely) I forgot about it.

It's fun to reach a certain stage where the learning really accelerates - - learning new things and learning things that I forgot...

Yep, in my case it's accompanied by buying parts, accesories I think I "need", sometimes paying a lot of money, only to find that I've had an extra in a drawer or packed in a box somewhere else for years.
