I have started a youtube channel with some experiments and transcriptions I am going to be putting a lot of things up. This particular video shows that you can get some surprising results with acoustic recording. I actually have been experimenting with making blanks since 1987, when I was very young,, and actually started making metallic soap blanks in 2000 for collectors, although I had sold recordings made on Paul Morris blanks starting in about 1995. My first dubbing recorder used a driver from a Dictabelt machine driving an automatic recorder, I also had a recorder that used a Fairchild lathe cutterhead driving an Edison recorder. This recent demonstration uses an early automatic style recorder, that has a special self built diaphragm, and other special equipment. In this selection listen closely to the Tuba, and bass instruments, it is hard to believe this is an acoustically dubbed recording from and Electric Diamond Disc, and it is sounding like a late Blue Amberol even though it is a two minute brown wax recording (Borri Recording Blank). http://youtu.be/YPp7Czy3tmY
