Hi Guys,
I have a Columbia BKT that I can't get any volume out of the reproducer. Gaskets and diaphragm are fine. It appears that the stylus does not have a button end like all the other ones I have seen. I think it may have been broken off. How do you get the old stylus out of the bar???
thanks

The old stylus is probably held in with shellac or possibly wax. In either case, you should heat the stylus bar until the shellac melts and you can dig out the old stylus and clean out the hole. You can then fix the new one in place with stick shellac or superglue. I used this method on my Q reproducer and it worked quite well.
