If you look in Craigslist Kansas City, you'll see a listing "Antique Victor Victrola Record Player For Sale!". The photo shows a well worn open sided Victrola X with a price of $300. I called and was offered the machine for $150. The photo shows a tone arm without an Exhibition but I think it's loose behind the turntable. I think the open sided X is one of Victors most interesting machines and it looks like a worthy project. I didn't ask about the motor so be sure to get the particulars. Jerry Blais

I see lid damage at the hinge too. This is pretty rough, but I think $150 isn't awful if the motor is intact and the legs aren't wobbly.
