I am looking for a nice original crank and key for an Edison A-250 Diamond Disc Phonograph. If anyone has one, please message: Garret.girmus "at" gmail.com. Please note: the key must be an A-250 key; there are many "Edison phonograph" keys on ebay, but according to an online key chart, they have the wrong teeth cut into them.

Is there any difference between a crank for an A-250 to a C-19? Jerry

You are probably already aware of this, but the Brunswick shared one of the same keys as the Edison A-250... so you may want to search on Ebay for Brunswick keys, as well.

I needed a key for my early Brunswick (which shared the same key as the A-250), and rather than look on Ebay specifically for Brunswick or Edison (since those typically command a higher price tag), I searched through pages of skeleton keys until I found the correct key. I wound up purchasing five skeleton keys for $5.00, and amongst those keys were two Brunswick/Edison keys.

If you don't mind looking through pages of pics on Ebay, it may be worth your while. I realize not everyone cares to... but I rather liked the challenge.

That's the same way I found my Brunswick and Pooley cabinet keys as well. Got something like 10 keys for $10 and 4 or 5 were the correct barrel keys Brunswick and Pooley used. The cut is the same as Edison, yes, but the Edison A-250 key had the dolphin design, just to clarify a little.

As far as I know, the A-250 also shared a Brunswick key as well... though, admittedly, many of you know far more than me.

I was making reference to this particular key, as referenced on the OldCrank website key chart.

Well, with Edisons, anything is possible!

The A-250 I had many years ago had the dolphin key which was origial to the machine.

My last C-19 came with the key referenced above (not the E key), so as I say, anything could be possible with them. At any rate, the cut of the two is identical, so either will work.
