A friend of the family wishes to sell their mechanical music piece. It worked until recently. I looked at it and it appears to be in good condition and I suspect it is a minor problem. This appears to be a "Piano Orchestrion", a barrel operated piano with percussion effects. The Paris address could be that of either the manufacturer or the retailer.

These instruments were often installed in dance halls during the last decades of the 19th century, but were superceded by pneumatic roll operated orchestrions such as the Hupfeld and the Welte.
