It's not a 'toy', it's a G & T Style 2 REPRODUCTION!

Yes, it's fake! A new machine that's been 'dunked in the lake' in a rather poor attempt to disguise its true origins.

That is really terrible!!! It looks like something made with old VCR and 16mm projector parts; even the rust is new from the color of it. My conscience wouldn't let me do this to somebody...

My thoughts exactly!! It is a 70's repro that has been artificially aged.

Hi all,
I don't think I will ever find such a phono but, just in case(!), I would like to know how to determine if this a repro or an original one. I did compare both pics, noticed the red rust on the platter but other than that the 2 look quite similar for me. Any thing in particular we should look for?
Thanks for your advices!

So far, the only significant difference I've been able to find is in the turntable - the original has a beveled underside, while the copy does not....

The shape of the crank on the repro isn't quite right either.

Also notice there are NO holes where the arm/horn would have been screwed on!, this was made this way! And I don't like that crank either!!
