Washington, DC. Circa 1921. Looks to be a Pathé in the window.

Boy, do I miss the days of dressed Christmas display windows in storefronts...

Looks more like a Vocalion, actually (the record labels are a giveaway)...

Agree with Tink. I miss the real Christmas storefront displays. Everything is cookie cutter now.
Also agree with Luc. Looks like a Vocalion to me.

Definitely an Aeolian-Vocalian -- the small grill and Graduola plunger on the left side of the cabinet are my clues.

You are probably right. There is a Pathé with a similar grille in
Pathé Records and Phonographs in America, 1914-1922, but it has much more eleborate feet.

Interesting photo. Thomas Edison had a Hallet & Davis piano.
This was not a high end,big city store.

Yes, these are publically held photographs from the Library of Congress. A couple of companies take them and make prints to sell. The one I put up came from the website of Shorpy.com, which does this also. I visit their site often because I like to use the photos they put up as Windows wallpaper. Occasionally I buy a print to support them because I like the site.
A convenience if you want a print, but in many cases you can just go straight to the LOC's website, open the file, and make your own print gratis (except for the cost of the photo paper and ink). And they have a lot of interesting phonograph related pics. Just go to
http://www.loc.gov/pictures/ and do a search for phonograph. Thousands of other fascinating photos there as well.
