ive decided to re-grease my double barrel 2 spring motor , however i cant find any videos or guides to doing a double barrel motor just a single barrel with 2 springs.. i found a video on youtube and ive been going off that as much as possible but its still different. so far im stuck at the part when removing the spring barrel from the motor mount.. i removed the tiny screw on the main gear but the big pin going through the barrel wont budge.. any one have a solution? thank you! - Tyler Antonian

I'm a bit confused here. Supposedly the VV-IX utilized a single barrel two spring motor. The two springs are wound in opposite directions and are separated by a circular partition plate.

I have seen earlier victor motors with seperate spring barrels, it probably was around 1920 when they went to single spring barrels. They are wound in opposite directions.

These aren't so rare. I have one in my XI (1917), and there were many thousands of that model.

First make sure the springs are wound down. Take out the set screw. Lightly tap the shaft. It should start to slide out.

Interesting, the winding ratchet is on the opposite end on this motor. That shaft should slide out though. I just used a few light taps against the end using a short dowel.
