This is a film I put together based on the article I wrote in the 2011 June July edition of "In the Groove"

Fascinating stuff, thanks for posting.

I especially enjoyed it as I was once Works Chemist in a rubber factory. There are a lot of materials in common in the formulations, and rubber compounding is similarly a "black art" (i.e. guesswork, intuition, trial and error) as much as scientific reasoning, so can I understand the evolution process fairly well.

Yes, in fact some of the products I purchase are indeed used in rubber industry

Shawn, I love to hear you speak on your videos. You are a highly intelligent & effective speaker, and definitely the best Uncle Josh impersonator !

I remember listening to an O' Keef Uncle Josh cylinder and it to me did not sound right to me, as the Stewart ones. Thank You, I think that my RCA 44b x might help some with my voice sounding decent. Soon I will post some hifi remakes of Uncle Josh recorded with more modern equipment too.
