I bought this at a radio show a couple of years ago. I'm looking for a horn and elbow but also wonder what brand it might be. There are no markings whatsoever. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Excellent! I like your sense of humor.

I might also add that the neck where the horn elbow would slip over, is just under 1-⅛" diameter, (1.100" to be exact).

those governor weights look like moth balls

Pathé used a similar looking backmount.

The Thorens does look like it may be the make. The dimensions of my case are a bit off however. Mine measures 34.3cm x 34.3cm x 14.5cm.

Looking at the ads posted here, and others I saw on the net, I've noticed that all the Thorens machines have the traditional style brake that rubs against the turntable edge. Mine is very different in that the "brake" is a metal bracket that moves close to the governor flange and engages a small pin protruding from the periphery of the flange. In other words, it stops instantly, with a bang. Probably very hard on the governor gear!

If you look very closely in my motor photo, you can see the pin engaged with the stop lever bracket.
