Traveling to Vienna & Munich

I was wondering if anyone knows of good record-hunting spots in Vienna and Munich. I will be traveling there in early September and, as always when I travel, looking for some jazz 78s. A little bit of research has given hints about outdoor markets and especially Teuchtler (in Vienna). If anyone has good tips, I'd appreciate them.
Many thanks.
Steve

The UK sub-forum contains this link to the German forum http://grammophon-platten.de/news.php.

This would probably be a good place to start looking.

Thanks for this. It looks interesting, however I'm looking for actual locations in Vienna and Munich where jazz records can be found; something not found on the forum. If someone has been to these cities and stumbled upon a jazz stash, I'd love to know where.

I am orginally from Munich and live in the USA now. Don't expect too much, 78s have become scarce and expensive in Europe, unlike here in the States. Remember, two great wars were fought in Europe and destroyed a lot. What is left is in collector hands. You can find some on german ebay, but prices are high. You may be lucky to find some 78s at fairs or flea markets, but I would not expect great finds there. I bought most of my german 78s 30 years ago at flea markets, but times have changed.

That's what I feared, Andreas. However, there is always hope of finding something.

If you happen to find a good source in Munich, please let me know. I still travel there once or twice a year to see my family.
Thanks
Andreas

I'm no world traveller , in fact , a trip last spring to the Netherlands with my new Dutch/Canadian wife was my first trip out of North America. While visiting Delft in the Netherlands we found a wonderful record shop and purchased a stack of "Record of the Week" discs at a reasonable price... no Paramounts or Black Swans , but they did have a reasonable selection of post war European labels...who knows what you will find

Wherever I travel (or just leave the house) I'm looking. The thrill of a new source, however unlikely, is always welcome.
