Crazy prices!

I've noticed a growing trend on ebay: sellers asking ridiculous prices for relatively common records. They are using collector terms such as "V condition". So obviously, having performed research and knowing the jargon of collecting, they must be aware of actual worth. I can only assume that they are preying on the less informed and casting a broad internet to see what they can catch.
A Fiddlin' John Carson record is not worth $150 unless the ol' buzzard rises from the grave and hand-delivers it. Is anyone actually paying these inflated prices, fueling this bogus cottage industry?
