Just posted several opera and classical wax Amberols

Three different Daddi cylinders, 2 "red box" Grand Opera selections, and 2 early Concert cylinders, all wax Amberols, posted today. Hope you enjoy!

Those records must have been played twice since 1910 to be in that shape. Very nice indeed. Every time I hear Ricardo Martin I am reminded of the critic Henry Finck's memoirs.
He thought highly of Martin and makes some rather cryptic comments regarding his career at the Met . He implies that Martin was unjustly eased out of the company by someone's political machinations. When I hear Martin I wonder if Finck might be right.

The Daddis are actually fairly beat up, but the Grand Opera ones are remarkably clean. I think the fibroid horn in the 1A also helps reduce some of the scratchiness.
Clean or not, I am now in the habit of recording wax Amberols the first time I play them, just in case they decide to "explode" at some point. I hope someone will tackle a project to try to record all the wax Amberols and preserve them, much like the one fellow on Youtube has done with the 2M Indestructibles.
