I visited with a lady that's a motivated seller of two Diamond Disk uprights and a Cecilian wooden portable. One Edison is a Model H-19 Hepplewhite with fleur-de-lis grille. It is a totally original unrestored mahogany example that includes an adaptor to play regular 78s as well as the DD reproducer and an assortment of records. The other Diamond Disk is a model A-100 Moderne with open shelf. The outside appears to have been refinished long ago and it has only the Diamond Disk reproducer plus records. The little Cecilian is something like a Victrola 50. I suggested to the seller that the uprights are worth about $150 to $200 each and the Cecilian about $75. I will be posting photos early next week.

Is the Cecelian the sort where the tone arm comes off and is stored in the horn compartment?

The tone arm was loose inside the cabinet. It easily mounted into its playing position but I did not look inside the horn compartment to see if that's where it should be stored. Jerry

I had an incomplete one - There was a hinged lid over the horn & felt padded fittings inside to hold the arm and reproducer, plus a holder for the crank. All very well made, if this one is the same I'd like to see it.

I don't know about Cecilian, but my Outing portable works that way. Perhaps that's what you're thinking of?

I took a trip to Corvallis today and bought all 3 of their machines.

The H-19 Heppelwhite seemed to work OK though the lateral/Pathé adaptor was stuck in the horn. A bit of poking around and I found the Edison reproducer for this machine, the stylus is bad.

The A-100 Moderne spins uncontrollably, the motor is covered in rust, the diamond sylus is toast, and I found a Perfection reproducer in the cabinet that appeared to belong to a pot metal lateral adaptor, but the adaptor part was in many pieces.

The Cecilian portable worked OK. The tone arm disconnects from the horn attachment and there was a clamp in the turntable area specifically to secure the tone arm when the lid was closed.

Got a great price for all 3. And, I have some more refurbishing to do. Thank goodness for that Edison motor manual recently posted!
