The arm looks a little too shiny and the decal looks like a paper label to me..

To save a member their hard earned money.....the whole thing is "junk" made up.

I think that it is a reproduction made in either Japan or Taiwan from the 1970's. Except for the paper label and wrong style crank, I think it looks pretty good. Recently I saw a reproduction Berliner go for about $1300.00 on ebay.

Harvey, I believe the Repro. Berliner you saw sell for $1300 was indeed a Japanese copy circa 1978. I think Charlie was selling that one. Not too surprised at that selling price. New they sold for $850 ...I think. They are very well made and with attention to detail.
The one that is now listed is nothing compared to the Japanese copy. Just a very poor made up model.

The arms are repro, the soundbox is repro, the cabinet is poor repro, the winder is wrong, the elbow is repro......maybe the record hold is actually original?

Yes, as others have already said, it's a load of old junk!

And the arm rest and brake and motor are repro too!
