Listed as "Arthur Brown", here he is on a scarce 1926 electric Vocalion.

"...Henry Ford is learning how to Yiddisha Charleston..."
I love it! Thanks for sharing this. I have many Yiddish recordings on green Columbias and purple Brunswicks. I should keep an eye out for this one too.

Henry Ford was a notorious anti-Semite. Another reason for not owning a Ford.

I know. I love the not-so-inside joke. And I can guarantee my garage is 100% Ford-free

Smart man. It took me three tries (I mean "turkeys"), and a near-death experience when the brakes failed suddenly on my '91 Explorer, before I caught on. Now it's Toyota all the way!

So, Henry, what do you think of the recording?

What recording? Oh, yes, the recording---terrific example of its type. The distinctively syncopated Charleston rhythm is rather subtle, as compared to the put-downs directed at the anti-Semites ("Ku Klux Kleagles" indeed!). I'd say it has a lot of chutzpah for the period. I like the "eastern European" minor key tonality ("eastern European" is a code word for Jewish, of course). I don't know if it's very danceable, though

Great recording. Happened to find this little gem on Youtube when searching other Irving Kaufman sides. From 1974

Wow!
Whenever the brakes went out on my Ford, I'd simply use the reverse pedal. In fact I'd often use the reverse pedal in the place of the brake or equalize the wear on the bands. Of course this problem disappeared after I fitted the machine with Rocky Mountains.
