Wanted Old 78 and Edison Records for Target Practice (Indianapolis , IN)
Do you have some of those annoying records taking up room that nobody really likes to play? We buy old records Edison thick ones or the thin records with the color labels (some black or red, does not matter). We use them for target practice which is about the only purpose for them. Most people want a $ 1.00 each but end up settling for a bulk price on a stack or maybe 5 or 10 cents each. We will pay the postage and take them off your hands! Clay pidgeons cost us about 50 cents each!

We need about 50,000 of these records for our practices. We cant buy the plastic 45s or 33 albums they are vinyl and bend so they are no good for our purposes. We will make offers. Let us know what you have?

We also do recycling of old metal parts and frames from phonographs can be broken or incomplete, metal parts only for recycling.... we pay top $$$$$

There is a large discussion" Target practice with 78s better for the environment?" in our "Music" section about this. Seems like ads like this are all over CL now... .

I can think of a much better purpose for these records than blasting them to bits!

-Considering they also want to “recycle” old phonograph parts, it sounds like they may actually be a phonograph collector looking to get cheap records. (I hope that’s it)

maybe they use the old phonograph parts as bullets for their blunderbuss?

Maybe the makers of crapophones need parts and records. I doubt that they really want to use them for target practice. Pretty shady either way!

There's a warning here for we collectors... Like most of us here , I also have passions in other hobbies . For me it's trains , and antique autos....A very good friend in the train group unfortunately passed away a few years ago...He had a huge collection of models , slides , books , and artifacts...Fortunately his wife , who shared his love for the hobby , knew what it was worth , and how and where to dispose of it...It's taken her several years , and there's still alot left....Another fellow that I knew , whose wife hated his hobby , was only to happy to bring in a dumpster....My point is that it is important to let our partners know what we have , what it's worth , and how to dispose of it....If you told her that the Victor -V that you just brought home only cost $25 , she's liable to let the antique dealer have it all for less...and your records , If you want your Paramounts and Black Swans used for target practice , then keep your spouse ignorant of what treasures you have...
