What are the odds that anyone has a spare needle bar for a Sterling lateral adaptor for Edison machines?

You should be able to repair that pretty easily with JB Weld SteelStik. It's a moldable epoxy that dries hard and strong. I have successfully used it to repair Orthophonic Victrola back brackets on more than one occasion. You just cut off a small piece of the stick, roll to mix, then shape as needed.

In this case, stick a fiber needle in the hole, mold around it, remove needle and let dry. Paint if desired. Should be good as new.

I got some JB Weld and here's the result. It ain't pretty, but at least it works just fine, almost as good as the No 90 Military.
