Okay I am not one to sit still for long, the Mikiphone pouch is underway, here are a couple of photos. I will add more as I go.

Looks great, Marcel BUT......

Before you go too far, you might want to check the authenticity of the "model" you're currently copying. I have my doubts about this particular "original" case. The one I know for absolute certainty is correct is completely round and made from tan leather witha full length shoulder type carrying strap!

It's also pictured in the Christopher Proudfoot book - the other examples (and they appear to be numerous) I'm not quite so sure about?

I am mainly doing this for the fun of it, I have known how to do this type of stitching but never tried it, so at this stage authenticity is not what is important. I know this is a strange way to entertain myself but I do enjoy it.
I would like to see a picture of an original can you post one for me? so i can copy it. I have added 2 more pics the last one is the front stitching finished.

I'm pretty sure the one Marcel's copying is an original.
I think I mentioned on your board seeing 2 mikiphone cases- one in canvas with piping, and one in leather without piping.
The one Marcels copying is exactly the same as the leather case I've seen. It didn't click until I saw the listing, but I distinctly remember the stitching, and the royal purple lining.
The other was similar to the one pictured below. It was a pale yellow canvas with matching piping, but it had a shoulder strap instead of the type pictured below.

I can't scan the C.P. book but I'm sure there are links on this board to the previous Ebay sales which should still be "live" and one of them shows a case which is right (I think!).

If you're right, Shane, I ought to place my order with Marcel right now whilst he's still relatively keen!

I would insist on tan though.

Keep it up, Marcel, that's looking very good already and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Well this is it, the hand stitching is very hard on the hands. All it needs now is a coat of leather dressing and 80 years.

Yes, that looks really good. Great job Marcel. You could start up a nice little side line in mickiphone cases. Did we ever work out what the original one looked like ie are they round or shaped like the one Marcel copied?

The only one that I know is definitely original is the round case shown in the Proudfoot book with long shoulder strap. I can't be sure about any of the others including the shape case that Marcel has reproduced beautifully above?

A very beautiful work! I am sure that there is a market for such nice cases.
