Hello all. I finally picked up a replacement for the mandrel end plate missing from my little Columbia Q. The hole in the center is much larger than the head of the small screw in the center of the end of the mandrel. While I have maybe a thousand washers, none are as small in the center and as large in diameter as would be needed to fasten it that way, nor does my local Ace Hardware have any that would work. How were these fastened originally? Glue?

I believe the patent plates were glued to the end of the mandrel with shellac. Of course, a modern substitute would probably work as well or better.
