What is this with a Victor reproducer, and maybe arm, painted black and stuck on it? Anybody recognize the machine?

It looks like a table top Brunswick that has been stripped.

Possibly. Brunswick was fond of oval grilles. I don't remember seeing one with no wood lattice work though. This one looks to have some sort of metal mesh.

Very similar to this.

Well, again could be. But notice that one, and every Brunswick I have seen, has the wood scroll work in the grille that this one lacks and that there is no Brunswick logo on it to be seen. The victor reproducer obviously does not belong and apparently there are no other identifiers except for some patent dates on some sort of plate the seller refers to.

My guess is that the delicate wooden fret has been damaged, and cut away completely, and the trademark will have disappeared when the cabinet was stripped. The turntable, brake and speed control also look very "Victor" to me. Maybe all the internals except the arm came from a Victor with gilt fittings, and the only arm available was either badly worn, or had a nickel finish, so it had to be painted in order not to clash. As my Mother used to say, "Black goes with anything!"

Got it! This is a heavily reworked Silvertone. Compare the case details:

I don't think so - look at the "groved" corners on your unknown model compared to the Silvertone ??
