New Century Question?

I just picked up my first ERJ New Century reproducer, and have a question.
I have seen other New Century reproducers through my years collecting, and they have always had a black paper label on the face of the reproducer, But, this one appears to be 100% original and it has the name and patent info stamped into the metal of the face of the reproducer kind of like a Columbia long throat.
Is this common?
Did Johnson only do this to the "late" New Century reproducers? (since the serial number is high, 10292).
Just curious, Bob S.
