This is the shortest version of the Tiger Rag that known to me as it lasts less than 90 seconds:

It was recorded in 1943 in Germany, everyone should be able to imagine the circumstances. Schwarzer Panther (black panther) was a substitute name for Tiger Rag so it would slip through the 'officials'. Nevertheless, in 1943 it did not matter anyway.

Do those 90 seconds take up a full side of a record (or is it from some sort of medley)? Given the shortage of raw material for records at the time one would have thought that the record companies would have been eager to get as much music as possible on each side of a disc.

Actually it there is well enough space on the record left but that's the whole content of that side, no medley. And the record is a regular 10 inch.

Fascinating - and yet another proof that there was a lot of hot "entartete" jazz being played in the Third Reich. Thanks for sharing!
