What is this? Is this even a re-entrant?

I haven't seen an HMV like this before!

It's one of the mid 1930s range that was made to look a bit like a radiogram. They're quite rare (compared to the models from five years earlier) because most people were buying actual radiograms by then.
It's in the Oakley and proudfoot book - someone who has it to hand will probably be along in a minute with full details...
Cheers,
David.

It is a Model 158 with a bifurcated (i.e. not a re-entrant) horn similar to the 157 design.
Unusually for a 1930's HMV, it had a walnut cabinet and "Florentine Bronze" fittings. Even more unusually, it was fitted with the No.16 soundbox.

The other damage on one of the legs was caused by a bored teething puppy, This could be easily remedied with a light sanding and a simple refinish. These flaws are reflected in the sale price which is much less than I paid, but I do need the space.
Is she going to give the puppy a "light sanding and simple refinish"?!
The best way to remedy this would be to get rid of said puppy - problem sorted! No cute cuddly animals were harmed during the writing of this comment.
