Edison Machines Popping Up Up Up

It seems so many Edison Diamond Disc machines are popping up. There is a nice one near me in the antique store on Main St. in Crown Point, IN. Its a Edison S-19, and excellent condition, and the price is not bad at $ 395.00

This leads me to my question? It seems more of these Edison's are popping up on Craigslist and in Antique Stores. I have seen them on ebay, craigslist etc. as little as 100.00. I remember a time when Victor Victrola cabinet machines ruled the market so to speak. LOL

Any thoughts?

IMHO $400 is high for a common machine like that, even at a retail store, and even though it looks to be in fairly clean condition. I assume the crank and reproducer are included at that price even though they're not pictured.

Here in Mass. I have seen several similar machines sell anywhere from $100-$200 on Craigslist. There has been a C-19 that needs work offered for $250 for several months with no takers.

The Reproducer and crank are included, he has them in the display case. I am thinking a Labratory Model might go for $ 395.00, but even a few of them have shown up at 100-200.00 here and there.

I've been watching Edison DD machines for
some little time now.

If you get in a hurry and jump the gun, you
can end up paying, $300, $400, $500.

If you relax, take your time, ask lots of
questions, and use patience, you'll find
one for $75 or less.

And, since I have more time than cash,
the patience and waiting is much easier than
the spending part.

As usual, this is just my $.02 worth.
Just thought I'd throw it out there for
people to consider.

Spend or wait and spend less. It's
universal I think...
