Disturbing Bar Conversion of Beautiful Victrola

I checked out a local listing today of Victrola parts today and what I found broke my heart. The seller had gutted an absolutely beautiful Victrola (a VV-100, he updated the ad and put in pictures) to turn it into a bar. He is selling the guts of it but keeping the tone arm, reproducer, and crank handle for looks. I asked him if I could buy the cabinet too but no, he loves his bar, calls it a "beautiful piece of furniture." And beautiful it is: quartersawn oak beautifully refinished to absolute perfection. Even the parts he is selling which hadn't been restored were in pristine condition. He said the motor spring is broken but I don't think he would have cared if it had worked flawlessly, he wanted a box to put his liquor bottles in. Still sad about it...
