FS: A conversation piece that talks: a SUPERGRAND graphophone, powered by a Garrard motor. (pictures-below) The epitome of the de-Luxe talking machine. This gramophone is just downright adorable. A diminutive 32" tall, 24" wide, and 18" deep, if you are over 5'10" tall, you are most likely going to have back spasms from bending over to change the needle on this bugger.

It is not a luxury phonograph in the slightest. Made out of the finest plywood, through and through a machine of great inverted technical prowess. It has four feet. It has a lid. It has a crank. The motor is a smooth running single-spring Garrard motor. So, it qualifies to be called a talking machine! Every expense was spared in the production of this machine. The soundbox (can I call it that?) has an aluminium alloy diaphragm. It plays acoustic discs wonderfully! Electrically recorded discs should be played with a SOFT tone needle, otherwise they are too loud. The horn is made of metal. Direct firing. Non of that re-entrant, exponential, folded horn nonsense here!

I have replaced the rubber gaskets in the reproducer and made all adjustments. The motor received oiling. Runs silky smooth. The top of the lid needs help. Maybe a sanding and rub of Danish oil? I dunno. If I touch this thing and tart up the cabinet, the price will skyrocket to $1900 (and those of you that know me and my paranoid and neurotic-perfectionist tenancies know this to be fact).

The whole thing weights.........MAYBE 40 pounds?!? You just lift it up, and stroll on your evening constitutional. If you have good balance, you can have it playing your favourite Billy Murray disc while walking down the street.

The pièce de résistance is the decal itself. You can't beat that with a jelly covered stick of butter. I mean...it is just great.

And now maestro, the price. $150, and I will personally deliver it to:

A. The Danbury phonograph show June 23rd
B. The Stanton phonograph auction Sept 20/21
C. The Wayne phonograph show October 13th

GIVE IT A GO! WHAT CAN YOU LOOSE?
