Black felt on Victor turntable?

Did Victor ever use black felt on their turntables verses the common green felt? I have seen two thus far with black felt, a VV-XVI and VV-X. Both were made around 1916.

I don't think so. I thought the felt was always green until the late acoustic era. After that. the felt was an orange-brown. Does the black felt look original or a replacement. I never heard of this before.

It looks original, but it could have just been an old replacement.

I have the following original, un-restored Victrolas:
1909 VV-XVI B with C over-stamp : green felt
1915 VV-IX: green felt
1918 VV-XI: green felt
1927 VE- 8-12: orange/gold felt

AFAIK, no Victrola came with black, just different shades of green and orange for the most part. Looks replaced to me.
