I am curious if anyone has an Edison concert upper works for sale. I would use it in the process of shaving and recording concert records.

Hi Shawn,
I have been wondering when someone would embark on a project like this. What a great idea. With mint Concert cylinders fetching $200.00 I have always thought that it was a shame that there were so many really mouldy examples around. You can buy mouldy Concert cylinders at the shows in the $30.00 to $50.00 range. At this point you are only buying them to display the Edison or Columbia boxes. Wouldn't it be neat if you could shave and record the original tune back on the wax cylinder. Keep us posted as to your progress.
Pete

Thanks that is what I am tending, to do, as well as make new authentic core spiral blanks and records. I also just put the second spiral on my right handed mould for standard and dictaphone blanks.

Not sure if you have access to one but, if you had a metal lathe, it would be a cheaper prospect to mount a concert mandrel in one and cut the blank on a lathe. It would probably even result in a better end product.
