They're still out there: a friend of mine just bought a Columbia Type BC (with Higham reproducer) at a yard sale for $30.
Sure, it needs some work, but it's all there, including the original amber wheel and (dried-out) rubber 'shoe'.

If he's a real friend you might hopefully get him to part with it for $45? That's 50% profit. Come on!
