Edison brown wax records

Can you play edison brown wax records with a model C reproducer or do you HAVE to use a model B reproducer.

Has to be an Automatic or a Model B. a Mocel C reproducer will damage the cylinder.

A Columbia floating reproducer is usually OK too. The weight on a model C is too heavy for the relatively soft brown wax.

That, and the smaller radius of the doorknob stylus. Only a ball sapphire should be used. Yes, I have played homemade recordings with a "C", as have many others, but the recordings will wear out faster.

Columbia 2 minute wax records will also wear out super fast with a model C. You can actually see the wax dust on the record after playing it.
