I don't have an Ipad. Could this be found in Kindle format or in a PDF for my laptop?

I don't see why this book can't be reprinted. Mainspring Press produces a steady stream of Discographies, you'd think this would be up their alley.

I think Bob Baumbach would probably say the sales don't warrant reprinting it. I'm a Columbia fan with a Viva Tonal 800, a Grafonla 150, a Regent desk, a Baby Regent table, and an 1899 AT cylinder machine. But most collectors ignore Columbias, so the sales are probably not there. It was published way back in 1996 and I don't think it has had another edition. This book is necessary, since there is no Columbia phonograph website similar to the Victor/Victrola site. This is a guess on my part and I can't put words into Baumbach's mouth. I'd like to hear what he says on the subject. Many more collectors want the Frow book on Edison cylinder machines to be reprinted, but it has not. I had to buy my Columbia vol II from a friend in the hobby.

Took me forever to find my copy at a decent price. This ipad version is nice. Wonder why the cylinder book is not available?

… gives some idea about how one might go about converting an ibooks file to a PDF file, but it does not sound easy or likely to result in a very satisfactory viewing experience.

As to why the the Frow book on Edison cylinder machines is not available… one, Mr. Baumbach has a few "hurt copies" for sale on the Mulholland Press site and two, Mr. Baumbach might not have rights to issue that book in a different format, since, after all, he did not write the cylinder machine book.

I would like the Columbia book myself, but I'm not inclined to purchase an ipad for that purpose, at least not in the near future.

Best wishes, Mark

I've used this in the past, it would allow you to export the iBook version to PDF, which you could then print.
