Dealer claims it is worth more than $20 and sees nothing wrong with not clearly stating it is repro

The dealer would be correct. To a non-collector or a decorator..it's worth whatever they can agree on. There is no law that they have to state "repro". Like any dealings one gets into it's always "buyer beware".

Come on,be fair! He does state quite clearly "ANTIQUE STYLE", which immediately says to me "reproduction".

It's not worth the asking price either!
50 cents more like.

There does seem to be a universal distain for these Indian made facsimiles...Is it because they are so poorly made , or because they attempt to be what they are not , or just because they exist ? If they were made with a strong motor , well fitting tonearm and back bracket, and a quality reproducer , would you still dispise them ?
