Here's a classic case of the seller not knowing squat about what he has for sale. It's an Edisonic Schubert that looks to be in fairly nice shape:

I have no affiliation with the seller. Hopefully somebody here wants to give this a proper home and prevent this "antique furniture piece" from being turned into a liquor cabinet.

If it was in the UK I would be beating a path to his door.

If it was in Roswell New Mexico rather than Roswell Georgia I could ask how much it would cost to send by UFO...

Wish I lived down that way, I'd buy it myself (well, I should clarify by saying it depends on what the seller's reserve is...)

Another bargain! I'll have to build an extension on my house if I keep buying cabinets, mind you, always room to put a horn machine on top

I have to say, I've been collecting for a year now - I've rather got the bug and it's getting more difficult to pass something up on ebay. Am I doomed or is there still hope for me? I've heard that some collectors are killed by there collections by falling over them (tripping and falling head first down stairs), have their wife or partner leave them or end up having to live in another property because there home is too full of all this stuff!

Yep, you are doomed. It is a passion that, once it has set in, is hard to suppress. I am learning to love clutter. And who needs to eat when you can use that money to buy a part for a beloved machine?

Reserves drive me nuts. Just start the bidding at what you are willing to accept. Like Tink said who knows what his reserve might be. I would look into it if I were closer.

I hate reserve prices too. However, if I was closer, I would jump on that auction.

Even with a reserve, you just never know. Several years ago I bid on a Schubert (coincidentally) near me that had a reserve. Mine was the high bid without meeting the reserve, and the seller offered it to me at that price in a second chance. It ended up being quite reasonable. Perhaps lightning will strike twice for someone else, as occasionally the sale is more important to the seller than obtaining top dollar. This one also appears to have an Edisonic reproducer with the correct finish, too.

I contacted the seller for some additional photos and info., as my wife's brother lives within a few miles of the seller.
No crank and veneer chipping and a vase ring on the lid, so the lid will need attention.
Not sure if the crank is unique to this machine????
With those issues in mind, I'm not sure what these machines sell for and what this one would be worth.
Please pm me with your thoughts if you'd care to.
Because my brother-in-law is so close, I put in a bid.

Epigramophone, I bought one in an UK auction one year ago for not much more than the price this ad is showing. My guess for the low price I paid is that nobody cares about US machines in Europe (and vice-versa). Keep you eyes open, I am sure there are more of those within your reach.
