Just got a call from a nice lady in Rochester, NY who inherited an estate of antiques. Among them is a Brunswick model Arden phonograph and some 'small one-sided records'.
I'm on the other side of the continent, but if anybody local to her is interested, then PM me and I'll forward the details.

Why, oh why, for once cannot a model like this be located here in my own state of WI?

A mere 17 hr drive from Wisconson to New York? C'mon, that's nothing!!
Steve- (anything over 12 hrs one way is getting serious about this hobby. Glad I have nothing better to do with my time... that crazy drive from OK City to Phoenix is just a fading memory but the two machines I got are right there as I walk in the door, and they are still pretty cool)

You never know if you're spending the time and money to make a long road trip only to find out that what you thought you were buying isn't the same as what you are getting!
Besides, I'm no spring chicken anymore... and I don't do well with sitting for long periods of time as I did in my youth. I would prefer a transporter a la Star Trek to just beam my purchases to me.

I agree with Tinkerbell a transporter would be great. Beam it up Scotty! Can anybody tell me why it is that when you come across a listing for a machine that you would just love to have, it is usually clear on the other side of the country? It wouldn't be so bad if gas was affordable.

Meanwhile... what does a Brunswick Arden look like. Anyone got photos? Curious.

If you Google "Brunswick Arden Phonograph" you'll find an ad for it in The Deseret News for September 11, 1926. It's a fairly cheap, uninspiring lowboy. I'm not at all interested in the machine, but I am curious about those "small one-sided records." No luck contacting the seller yet...

I'd bet it's a stack of Little Wonder records.
