Columbia AU soldered turntable?

Hey Guys,
I have a Columbia AU Graphophone which appears to have a few issues. The biggest problem with it that I can see is that it seems to have a soldered turntable. Does anyone know if this was original to the machine? I have posted a few pictures of the phonograph.

Any help is appreciated! :)

what do you mean by "soldered turntable" ?
if the turntable is stuck on it's shaft, try to put penetrating oil to free it.
if it doesn't work, try to remove both the shaft and turntable from the machine and lightly tap the shaft until it comes off.

That is a good idea, i'll try it. The only problem is that it appears someone actually welded the turntable to the shaft. I hope certainly hope that isn't the case. :|
