Edison Standard
Found in my wanderings yesterday , at the Talbot Trail Antiques in Morpeth Ont. an Edison Standard machine in much need of help....Reproducer missing..reproducer reciever broken...no horn or horn crane...However , the case and cover are in good shape ..it has it's crank..the spring seems to hold it's tension , but I couldn't get it to run.. The machine has the tag from RS Williams in Toronto ...The shop is asking $90 , but gave me the impression that it was the starting point and that any reasonable offer would be considered....I have no interest in this sale , it's not my machine , nor do I stand to gain any part of the proceeds...I am not versed in the cylinder world, so , I couldn't know or tell if it was an A,B,C or what...my best guess is a 2min model B...but that's just a guess....This is a very interesting shop , well worth the trip..all quality stuff at reasonable prices......the only other phonograph related piece there is a Dictaphone unit...quite old......
