B / C reproducers

I recently gave this reply to a customer who bought a B reproducer from me to play Brown wax cylinders

"Thanks for your email , yes the B is for brown wax cylinders etc , the problem is the stylus pressure on the cylinder , I am told that a C exerts 4 times the pressure on the groove than the the B ! this doesn't look right though as the B seems to have a much heavier weight , but the combination of the weight flap / leverage of the C "wing " and the sapphire diameter makes it so that if you play brown wax with a C it will wear it out very quickly !"

Am I correct ?

So then the question really is can you use a B reproducer to play 2 and 4 minute cylinders as you would an O or K reproducer?

No - the B is a two-minute reproducer. The Diamond B is a larger reproducer for four-minute celluloid only.
