Over $500.00 in shipping charges for a scare Edison B-60 currently on EBay? I bought a B-60 way back in 2005 from a shop in Maine, and although it was darn heavy and tripple boxed, the shipping was just under $80.00 insured. Mistake maybe - nice machine rather hard to come by. I likw the all metal A-60 because it is so darn ugly

Sellers will sometimes do this when they are not sure what shipping will be. If you are not sure that buyers will read the entire listing and follow your instructions and wait to get shipping charges before paying, they will put an outrageous charge that no one in their right mind would pay, this forces the buyer to wait for the charges from the seller. Not ideal but maybe he's had experience with people not following instructions.

A metal A-60 sold at Union a couple of years ago for good money. I can't remember the exact amount but it was substantial. Jerry

All the early belt-drive Diamond Disc are tough finds, especially the 60's.
