Any good "franken-phones" out there?

I normally frown on these "creations" but last week I uncovered a peculiar find I had from years ago for $20. An old Rivoli phonograph some creative soul had crafted a VV-50-esque case for and converted into a portable. Runs quite nice and quietly. Wondering if anyone else out there has had any other creative finds (aside from the gutted upright turned into a mini bar, etc).

If you search for "clam shell" in the Forum you'll find the frankenphone that I purchased. It looked too interesting, was too tempting, and took too much of my money. If I still had the photos, I'd post them again for more Forum ribbing. Jerry

This topic comes up repeatedly, but it's worth revisiting again. Here is an earlier thread on it, and you'll want to hear the YouTube recording of the "Ediphonic" player if you haven't yet. It's the best sounding cylinder player you're ever likely to hear.

That looks quite nice- I think it's built around a large book shaped keepsake box- sometimes these were used as deluxe candy boxes. I;d say it was easily worth the $20.00, thought I wonder where the sound comes out of and if it has a horn at all.
