Would someone be kind enough to post information on the early Columbia black and silver labels? I just bought nice group of them and would like to get an approximation of pressing and/or release dates.

There is an excellent book called Note The Notes, by Michael Sherman and Kurt Nauk. It gives the history of all the Columbia labels from 1901-58. You can get it at Amazon.com for $14.00 plus shipping. Hurry, because there is 2 left in stock. It is a great book to have.

Harvey - thanks, I know that book exists and will probably pick up a copy someday, but I'm mostly an Edison guy. Aldo FYI, Kurt has these on his website for lower than the Amazon price.
