Can anyone tell me what model Edison this is? Worth 200.00?

Looks like a William and Mary, with the later door instead of a drawer, I think this is a W-19. I have a W-250 and it's a very impressive machine. As for the price, well, it's all relative, I had always wanted one and paid a bit more than $200 for mine.

From what I have seen on line that particular cabinet seems much nicer than many of this style. I had one way back and always liked it.. I still have the console model of it, but the lighter finish of this version is much nicer overall.. I have looked for one around me but most turn out to be a much darker finish which simply don't look as nice as this. Its well worth the price.

Congrats. $150 seems to me to be a good buy, especially if the mechanicals are also in pretty good nick.

Clay when AREN'T the Mechanicals in good nick on these diamond discs??? They almost always come without any problem. $200 is a steal. $150 is well worth it. Of course you can pretty much assume you'll need a new stylus and that will cost you $100...

That William and Mary is well worth the money! I need a bigger house. That would have looked good next to my W&M console.

You have a good point. Unless really abused rust buckets, or something missing, the old DD mechanicals seem pretty bullet proof. Even one I bought that had been in a Florida storage space with no climate control for decades only needed cleaning up and the springs cleaned and lubricated.

I've had several of the DD machines with the standard disc mechanism, (B & C series). All worked perfectly on first winding except one Chippendale council which had a broken spring and the tip of a steel needle soldered into the stylus bar. Boy was that a record eater. The seller told me over the phone it played perfectly. I never tried it but based on the condition of some of the records that came with it, the seller was probably wrong...
