Hello!
New guy on the forum! 51 years old and counting. I live in SE Mn, and have a couple of crank phonographs.
I have a Silvertone floor model, the deluxe edition with purple velour and goldtone on the hardware and fancy woodwork.
I have noticed after searching online that the other floor models that I have seen all have the "Silvertone Decal inside the lid. Mine has the silvertone medallion.
My question is- When did Sears use the medallion on floor models? It seems harder to find floor models with one.

Welcome aboard to the forum, Johnny. I believe the early Silvertone machines had the medallion. I believe the Silvertones came out in 1915. Later on, they came with the rectangular brass tag. Finally, the decal was used. I'm not sure what year these changes were made. From what you described, it sounds like you have the high end version of the Silvertone. Enjoy it well.

Thank you for the reply. I will post some pics when I get a new camera Saturday.
I found the original owners manual inside as well as the instruction sheet for using "B&H" fiber needles.
I also found the original Silvertone inspectors tag. I will include a pic of it as well.
We picked it up at a local swap meet for $145. I regreased,and lubed the motor and had the sound reproducer rebuilt. The cabinet is in very good shape, although I replaced the almost non existant grill cloth with some I bought from Walt on e-bay.

That is definitely a beauty- a near twin to mine.

If you're going to play it regularly you might want to switch the Silvertone reproducer for a Victrola No 2. I've done that and gotten an improvement in volume and tone quality. I don't know if adjustment can fix the Silvertone soundbox but I just don't think it's as good as the Victor.
