Alot of machines showing up in Antique Stores

I visited a couple of antique malls in Crown Point, Indiana today, and was surprised that machines are showing up again in Northwest Indiana. They had:

Maytrola with the nice cabinet but broken pot metal arm, for 295.00.
Edison H-19 for 395.00, that was in great condition
couple of Edison Standards around $595.00 each
Columbia portable for $100.00, but with close examination someone dismantled the Columbia Grafonola reproducer and somehow fitted an Aeolian.
Columbia Favorite for $345.00.
VV-215 needing a cabinet refinish job for $ 325.00.

The VV-215 was interesting as I had never seen that style machine in person. It reminded me of a VV-IX in a long cabinet.

Machines are coming up in this area, but somewhat overpriced considering cabinet or mechanical conditions. I am wondering if this is what everyone else is seeing in their communities?

I got an offbrand at a flea market a year or two ago. That's really it here.

Saw an Edison Standard at an antique mall in Hagerstown, Maryland yesterday. It had two-minute gearing, and a large crane with a horn for a Home Phonograph. Asking 995.00, which, to me, borders on outrageous.

@bbphonoguy:

I have seen that same machine. Antique Cross Roads. I too thought the price was much.

Three of my four machines were from antique malls.

one consignment furniture shop here in North Carolina has had an Edison Home, Amberola 50, a victor XIV . I just bought a box of parts including a back bracket, tone arm and horn for a Victor one and an incomplete Edison standard. they knew nothing about the parts ( asked me how all the parts went on the Standard ) but knew they the standard / victor parts were worth $125.00 I snatched the box quick
