Need help removing crank

The machine is a XVI w/ female crank. The end of the crank is split so it is not catching the threads. I've turned it counterclockwise with all my weight behind it. I've tried lightly prying it off the motor shaft. I WD40'd it. It will not come out!
Thanks - Jim

Put heat to it. When I have anything that doesn't want to come off, I always heat it up. That will work most of the time. I use a commercial heat gun, but you can use those portable torches that screw to the propane bottle. A hair dryer will work sometimes, but they don't put out enough heat for me. But then again, I have no patience.

If it is spinning freely backwards perhaps the pin that holds the gear to the winding shaft has broken.
