Is there any difference between the model N and the model N 56 reproducer other than the riser on the bottom of the weight for the on/off lever. Also, can this reproducer be used for blue cylinders, or should I keep swapping the diamond b out to play those.

See Frow's book, p. 306-306. The N56 was designed for use on the Amberola V and VI (5 and 6 - get it?) to play 4M wax Amberols. The tail weights are different and the N56 has the odd lift mechanism because of the way the V and VI work.

The N56 can play both wax and Blue Amberols, but I'd recommend using the diamond reproducer on the celluloid records. Some people think that sapphire reproducers wear out more quickly when you use them for celluloid records.

Thanks, strangely the one I have has the smaller weight, but not the lift mechanism or the 56 stamp. I may just glue on a temporary one until I can find a proper N 56.
