Somebody brought this to me as a freebie. I offered to restore it for him - there were many issues (loose veneer, missing parts, bear finish, etc.)and as we unloaded it, he decided it was too far gone and he didn't want it. I told him that I've worked on worse but he didn't want it. It is coming out really nice and I'll offer it back to him.

Looks great. Same vintage as my XI-G (1917). With a rebuilt Exhibition it should sound great, too. Congratulations!
What did you use to restore the finish so nicely?

Yes, looks awesome. Did you remove all the hardware before the cleaning of the wood?
Thanks
Andreas

Yes. Better to polish the hardware as well.

That's a wonderful rebound for a machine. I too am interested in the method followed to bring it back. My mahagony restoration skill are lacking but have had good luck with oak machines.
